The nearby village of West Tytherley has a shop/post office, primary school, public house and church and also the well renowned Norman Court Preparatory School. There are doctors at Whiteparish, a dentist in Alderbury as well as a further range of facilities. Salisbury and Romsey, approximately 8 miles away with a good range of shopping, educational, leisure and cultural facilities, (a twice-weekly market) along with the mainline station with trains to London Waterloo, journey time approximately 90 minutes. West Dean is also conveniently located for access to Winchester.
