Farmers take unit next to railway station

A warehouse unit in a modern development on the edge of Gillingham town centre has been acquired.

Property consultancy Myddelton & Major has successfully negotiated the letting of Unit 9, Old Market Centre to Mole Valley Farmers.

Quoting rent for the 1,513 sq ft (140.56 sq m) industrial/warehouse unit was £9,250 per annum and the tenant has signed a six-year lease.

Myddelton & Major Commercial Agency Surveyor Gary Mead said: “Mole Valley Farmers is the leading agricultural supply business spanning the length of Britain, employing 2,200 staff and with an annual turnover in the region of £464 million.

“The company’s new premises in Gillingham forms part of a modern development of industrial/warehouse units which is accessed off Station Road on the edge of the town centre and has excellent transport links via the A303 and the adjoining the mainline railway station.”

Other tenants at the Old Market Centre include Howden Joinery, Plumbase and Valecraft.

The property is a terraced industrial/warehouse unit of steel frame construction with profile steel cladding to elevations and roof and cavity natural stone blockwork walls.

Gillingham is a busy and growing north Dorset market town with a population of approximately 11,750, midway between Shaftesbury and Sherborne and four miles from the A303 at Mere, linking to Exeter and the West Country and the M3/London.
