Money Laundering Regulations
Advice to Vendors
New Regulations came into force in 2017 in respect of Estate Agents complying with Money Laundering Regulations.
We are required to be able to confirm the identity of our clients and to have completed Money Laundering checks before we start marketing your property. To undertake these checks we will need to have the name, address and date of birth of the owners of the property, where held in private names, the names, addresses, dates of birth of Company Directors or Partners in an LLP.
Please be ready to provide this information as quickly as possible, when requested, so we can complete the necessary checks an begin marketing your property.
Advice to Purchasers
From June 2017 Estate Agents are required to undertake Money Laundering checks on purchasers of all types of property.
Before an offer can be formally accepted, these checks need to be completed. In order to undertake these checks we will need:-
- Full name, date of birth and home address of the purchasers in respect of individuals or partnerships.
- Names, addresses, dates of birth and home addresses of at least two directors or two partners of an LLP.
Please be in a position to provide this information at the point that you make your offer for the building, as any delay in presenting the information may hold up the commencement of a sale.
