Carers’ charity set to move into town centre shop
A Hampshire-wide charity which supports people who look after relatives or friends has found a new home in Romsey.
Property consultancy Myddelton & Major has successfully negotiated the letting of a retail unit in Market Place to Carers Together Trading Ltd, which was being marketed on a new 10-year lease at a quoting rent of £20,950 per year.
Myddelton & Major Partner Simon Lee said: “We’re pleased to have helped Carers Together find premises for their new shop and advice centre.
“Carers Together is an established local Romsey charity which offers support for unpaid carers living anywhere in Hampshire.
“These are people who give their time, unpaid, to support relatives, friends and neighbours who need help because they are old or frail, or have a disability or health condition.”
The Market Place premises have a ground-floor shop unit with a 501 sq ft (46.543 sq m) sales area. Upstairs there is a sales/storage area on the first floor and space for an office or staff facilities on the second floor.
There is also basement storage space and, outside, detached garage/store.
The premises occupy a busy town centre trading position on Market Street and other nearby businesses include Fox & Sons estate agents, TSB bank, Costa Coffee and WH Smith.
Myddelton & Major was named the most active agency in Wiltshire in 2018 for the seventh year running by Estates Gazette, the weekly and online magazine of the UK commercial property industry.
